Hi all
Black F228 BKR designer
found this forum after a night out and got nostalgic ... great to see a dedicated site for the designer mini! I would love to know the whereabouts, or sadly fate, of a certain black designer I parted company with in 1996 - rescued from a salvage yard in 1994, restored and refurb'ed, and had a very fun year motoring until late 1995... sold to a chap in southwater, west sussex (where I lived as well)
pretty much standard car when i owned it, with the amazing seats and little quirks, went like stink for a 998cc motor ... and the front seat locking-down knob - alas the cries of "(k)nob! (k)nob!" from myself and back-seat mates directed at the "forgetful" front pasenger attempting to take his or her seat once said rear passengers embarked .. memories of the fun and laughs are like no other car i've ever owned ...currently driving a navara pickup, about as far removed from a mini as one can get!
Last time i saw it was blasting past my house in southwater with some HUGE minilite alloys fitted (which at the time was my dream of mods for this car) circa 96 before we all left the area.
Previous owner was someone in tunbridge wells (caffyns garage of RTW detail on the reg plates, supplying dealer)
hope someone may recognise this little gem from the past? thanks for reading!

Nice to see more designer owners joining the site What a great story, sounded like a fun Little car back in the day (as the ultimately are today) Do you remember the registration of your previous designer? As mine came from Eastbourne in sussex (F633 HMX) Anyway.. Welcome to the site and hope you stick around and come to some shows in the future Chris

Cheers chris, sorry the thank-you's a little late! Just wondered if by some slim chance that it might be still around ... but good to see there is a forum for the designers, a few still on the road, and they are appreciated and loved. good luck with yours! james
